Interesting that the 2nd year is a one-way. Nothing about his history jumps out to me as a player that needs a one-way. I know he is just a 3rd stringer and with any luck, he stays in the AHL, but I think there were better options out there.

Maybe it discourages other teams from picking him up if he is put on waivers.
