Flames (reportedly) tried their hand at 4 years with a higher AAV - but good for DeBrusk and this contract.
This 7 year deal is a contract I would not have wanted.

Good. Glad we didn't sign him. I don't think he would fit with the Flames in their current state. I also think he's a little overrated because of the playoffs. Glad he went to Vancouver.

Yikes. This is terrible term for a guy that's not exactly trending up. Is there another round of compliance buyouts on the horizon that we don't know about? Some of these signings over the last 24 hours are just brutal. This feels like 2016 all over again.
