Wish nothing but the best for Kylington going forward regardless.
A fresh start might be best for everyone.

That's not what I said. Berglund walked away from the game. Walked away from his team. Walked away from his teammates and didn't tell them anything. Bergund didn't even try to get his money or fight it.

He simply wanted to walk away from the nhl and he did. He didn't even bring up his mental health until after and not to the team.

Totally irrelevant to the Kylington situation.

The way I see it it's simple.

You play for the Flames I cheer for you, you play against the Flames I boo you.

I can't really think of an exception.

Hell one time I was cheering so loud for Gio to kick Iggy's ass when they almost fought. And this season I'd cheer just as loud for the opposite.

Flames and kylington both honoured the terms of the expiring contract. If OK wants to play hockey, no matter which team or league, he has to sign a new contract.

Neither flames nor OK are obligated to sign a new contract. Both parties are entitled to find the right contract for each. Flames are entitled to look for a different player and OK is entitled to look for a different team.

I have no bad thoughts on either player or team.

I’m no expert on mental health, but I can see that understanding has a long way to go in our society. It can be more complicated and debilitating than a physical condition.

I think the positive thoughts about his play stem from his time alongside Tanev.

Not sure what he is in top four without safety valve.

I really like Kylington, and the tools he has. He looked absolutely great with Tanev. His skating and physical shape sure make you wonder if he could take another step. He very well might, but he didn't last year. That said, the lack of chemistry he showed with our current D is a bit of a concern for me, especially if we combine it with a long term contract.

I wish him all the success in the world, but I wouldn't be too upset if we manage to find a more defensive top 4 LD instead.

The bulk of his hiatus was spent at home in Sweden, where his support network is.

Maybe the Flames only wanted to offer 1 year to see how it goes.

If that’s true then Conroy doesn’t want to pay him so good luck Kylington. Hope the best for you

Watch him sign with Utah to give us one more reason to hate them.

A 2x$3M would be a harmless contract, but maybe there is truth to Conroy and the crew not seeing any more upside in his game.

I could see why they'd think that given his on-ice struggles away from Tanev and outside of playing sheltered minutes with Pachal. Kylington has struggled with Andersson, Stone, Zadorov, Gubranson, and pretty much everyone else he's played with...it shouldn't be that hard to find chemistry with a multitude of players, right?

This is purely speculation on my part, but I wonder if OK wants to return to Europe for personal reasons related to the personal issues he went through so he can be closer to home and family. I’m not sure why he wouldn’t just say that if so, but it would explain a lot of things. And be completely understandable if he did.

I get trying to get a 2nd year but a raise? No chance should he get a bump in pay. If anything he should be lucky to be getting $ 1 million per.
