Would have loved to have him packaged in the Markstrom trade if his value was that low. Bahl better be worth it.

Or some fans over-value Holtz.

Fitz couldn't wait to include him in a trade

Wonder if fan boy dgibs10 returns for this one, he was banging that drum that a retained Markstrom wasn't even worth Holtz. Fade away dude fade away.

criticizing Holtz in public was such a dumb move by Fitz. Teams have probably lowballed him ever since.

It is too bad the flames couldn’t add some pieces to Markstrom to get Schmid and Holtz. If it was Schwindt, Pelletier that would have really juiced the return on Markstrom and added the goaltending depth they are likely going to add in free agency. Holtz, Bahl, 1st really would have been solid for Markstrom.

I am good with the Markstrom return but just seeing how low Holtz was traded for here it is too bad he wasn’t tossed into the Markstrom deal

Bahl will get a chance to smoke him into the boards 6 times a year.

Weird trade. This gives credence to Friedman's report that Flames valued Bahl more than Holtz.

Unsure why his stock is so low.

From what i have read about Holtz is that he refuses to change his play style at all. Away from the puck he is terrible and if he is not on an offensive line he is a complete liability.

This actually makes sense.

If a GM is publicly trashing a player's work ethic around trade deadline, and the same player is the subject of numerous trade rumours, then I could only suspect the tradeable value for that player is not strong and also diminishing.

Holtz isn't is valuable as some tend to believe.

lol. The uproar that the flames didn’t get Holtz in the Markstrom deal and then he gets thrown in for practically nothing in another deal and people still think he’s something special.

I wonder how dgibb10 feels about the "value" of Holtz now.

If they were just giving away Holtz, I would have taken him on the Flames.
