I'd say it was Katz forcing them to do whatever it took to get the Oilers logo up there at the end. They just can't not be included.

Purely an optics thing as part of the sales job to Dr Drai and Connor that they are serious about filling up their prospect pool sooner than later by making moves like this, so that, in theory, in 5 or 6 years they aren't filling spots with dirt bags like Kane and Perry as they did this year.

In theory, that is. Kicking the can down the road giving up a higher pick in a future draft to make that claim now.
