Knowing SNET, they have no idea who he is

Apparently a lurker. High hockey sense.
Zach Hyman esque?
Curious why he was ranked poorly as leading scorer in USHL?
Conroy: High risk/high reward

All those stats this year are while playing 2nd line too. Could be more there

SNET doesn't do their homework. That's their problem, not the pick.

If the Oilers picked the same player they'd be all over his jock.

Yeah that's how it seemed.
Similar to when CBJ took Chinakhov and the SNET panel acted like they made that player up. Honestly that might actually be a decent comparable based on his highlights.

One of the youngest guys in the draft. Skating needs work. His compete level could use more consistency. Plays a cerebral perimeter game more than scouts would like. Has good size, but could use it better. But when he's engaged in the play has an excellent shot. Some rankings have him going late in the first round, so not totally off the board.

Not that much of a reach I guess, looking at a few different rankings looks like mid 30s is what most people expected, with a few having him in the 50s
