Not able to get much so far, but I was told people are calling the flames on a lot of roster players:
Kadri
Andersson
Coleman
Pospisil
Weegar
Flames are open to listen to all offers, but Craig won’t be giving up anything for free here. Nothing imminent.
I still don’t see Weegar moving but I think anyone is fair game outside of Wolf for the right price.
Teams seemingly wheeling and dealing 1st’s it seems, I predict a lot of movement.
I think Montreal wants a top D and forward in the top 10-12.
Flames the same.
It’s going to be a crazy few hours here leading up the draft.
Gary is going to be very busy me still thinks

Canucks trade 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th, Kuzmenko, Brzustewicz, and Jurmo to the Flames
for 26 games of Lindholm and 54 games of Zadorov

I think there’s a few teams hoping for something similar.
The cost to move up from 28th to say 12-18 is going to be very costly based on the prices so far.
Would you trade a 1st in 2025/26 that we acquired to move up?
Or multiple seconds perhaps. Not saying this does it but it may cost that.

I would not.
We need to exercise some patience with this thing. Rebuilds take time and there are very few shortcuts.

O.K. there has been a lot of talk on whether or not MacTavish has actually done a good job for us, most fans on this board are very basic in their analysis and I feel would change their opinion entirely if the team was successful.

I would. Get that elite talent in the pipeline now and then restock those vacant cupboards later with other trades with guys like Kuzmenko & Sharangovich

I hope that down the road when the Flames are good again, that they don't make buyers moves for rentals like this.

I would definitely move excess 2nds. No 1sts.

Depends on the plan. If you can trade 3 picks to move up I would if the plan is to keep trading players for more picks. The prospect pool and picks we have are so deep we need more quality
If you can move far enough up though. 28 to 20 probably not worth a couple 2nds but 12 to 14 I would do it

Yeah, 16 picks in the first 3 rounds, over the next 3 years, with more coming. Plus they have acquired some prospects as well.
Moving some quantity for quality would not be a bad idea (assuming a reasonable price)

No, I think the 2025 and 2026 drafts are stronger than this draft.
