I'm wondering about Qimir, when he says "A jedi like you would call me Sith"
That's not an admission that he's Sith. We know that Jedi tend to be a bit blind, and would probably label any darksider with a Red Lightsabre as a Sith.
I'm also fixated on Qimir saying that he's looking for an Acolyte, not an apprentice but an Acolyte.
So here's the insanity
Spoiler!
Theory 1, Qimir is indeed a Sith, he fights really well, he's clearly powerful, he's using Cortosis based armor. He has a lightsabre with a red blade that was created by bleeding. (I still like the EU theory better that the Sith Crystals were synthetic, and imbued with the Force, and the Sith believe they create stronger blades). If I go by this theory, I can't get past that the Sith wouldn't reveal themselves so casually.
Theory 2 - Qimir is not a Sith, he's a Sith wannabe, somehere along the line he was trained by someone who was adept in the Dark Side, but Qimir is trying to create his own version of the Sith brotherhood. So if we go by this, we could have two Sith still out there, that won't be happy with Qimir calling attention to the Sith.

Hoping it's theory 2 and we get a whole different brand of evil that stayed hidden maybe through the timeline that we have seen thus far?
Part of me doesn't want to see Tenebrous or Plageuis in the Disney universe and just to leave them hidden in the back ground as the real phantom menace.
Part of me does want to see Plageuis, because in the legends book, when he was mentoring Sidious, he was frankly a real bastard. But a brilliant bastard.

Really liked this episode, it was has a nice calmness to it after the chaos of last thr episode. We get more of the Jedi's politics put on display, and Qimir might just become a thirst trap for some fans.
Didn't hate it. Once again major issues with pacing and editing though. So much time spent devoted to not so great dialogue and just random meandering. There actually seems to be a solid story and chance to expand the lore under all of this.

I fell like that's really become Star Wars TV's 'house style' (andor aside)

The Mandalorian had one off throw away episodes, but those were typically entertaining. And they also fit with the theme of the wandering desperado type.
Largely agreed though, Book of Boba, Ahsoka, Obi-Wan and this just kind of all could have been better. It's a shame, as they seem to have wasted good opportunities. I feel like with minor story tweeking, changes in emphasis, and better pacing/editing all of these shows could have amounted to a pretty solid body of Star Wars entertainment.

Is it just me or is the way the show is unfolding very thematically similar to Residential Schools? The parallels are kind of striking if not on-the-nose, but I don’t know of the writing was intentional or just coincidental.
I'm guessing this more goes back to the Jedi and what they are.
IF the writers go back to the source material, the Jedi are a flawed organization that believe that their version of the Force and its teaching is the only one.
In the ROTS Palpatine when he was talking to Anakin summed up the Jedi perfectly.
Quote:
Anakin, if one is to understand the great mystery, one must study all its aspects, not just the dogmatic, narrow view of the Jedi. If you wish to become a complete and wise leader, you must embrace a larger view of the Force. Be careful of the Jedi, Anakin.
If you look back in Legends and even in Disney EU, the Jedi started the conflict with the Sith and pretty much created the Sith through their actions.
On top of that this is an organization that basically recruits the very young, and not only brain washes them, but limits them, and seeks to suppress, not only normal emotions, like Love, hate etc, but normal things like forging attachments, and if you think about that its sick.
The Sith don't really want really young apprentices, they want older ones that have been jaded and screwed over by the world, and are captured or limited, and ex Jedi tend to be the perfect candidates as they more then anyone else would want to break their chains and be free.
So if the theory 1 is that Venestra is a Jedi, Qimir as a former Jedi might have explored the Dark Side of the Force, and was severely punished and driven out of the Jedi Order.
If she's a hidden Sith as the theory goes, then perhaps Qimir tried to over throw his master and was punished for it, and now Qimir has two enemies, a Sith Lord and the Jedi Order.
