I couldn’t watch that for more than a couple of minutes. The Democrats need to seriously consider having an open convention to pick a candidate.

Trump would win that easily. The way that Joe moves when walking and the apparent stiffness in his body would render him useless on the course very quickly.

Trump can't answer a simple yes or no question without going on an insane nonsensical rant.
Seemed like Biden calling him a whiner really got to him. Trump looked pissed.

These debates are for the scholars and geriatrics. If you're looking for an excuse to swing one way or the other based on a debate in June between two senior citizens you're only trying to secure said excuse. Nobody "sitting on the fence" is looking to have their minds changed...they are looking to justify their ready-made decision.
It's an absolute shame and disgrace that this is what democracy is now.

I think the rules are that they aren't allowed to go to the bathroom. Diaper changes are allowed though.

Biden sounds absolutely terrible and the optics here are really bad for the Dems. Biden should not have been allowed run again, as his inability to string two sentences together is strengthening Trump.

I hope most reasonable people understand that the President's administration, Congress, and federal agencies are the ones who really push policy-making and set the tone for effective governance. The President has important powers but is wholly advised by strategists and legislators and the larger framework moves with a whole-of-government effort for day-to-day stuff.
I really hope people don't think two old men take turns running the country single-handedly.

Pretty unanimous takes by the CNN panel post debate that Biden did extremely poorly, with some speculating that the Dems may be talking seriously now about removing his candidacy. No surprise, as it was there for all to see.

Yeah, it has been pretty obvious for a while now, but Democrats have lied to themselves enough to think that the public is going to have confidence in Biden. So there really isn't any plan B and no one in the party leadership has seemed particularly interested in changing their path over the last year or two.
Which really undermines their argument that Trump = the end of democracy in the US. If they actually believed that, they wouldn't be running an 81 year old who struggles to string several sentences together at times. This election would be an easy layup for anyone that the public had confidence in given Trump's unlikeability.

Lol someone said the incumbent always loses the first debate.
State of the Union Biden was his only hope.
