Isn’t the usual MO the deals are more or less announced before the draft, for the deals involving players and picks, and at the draft it’s mostly just drop downs in the draft (pick swaps)?
On Washington’s side… I really don’t know what they are doing. They should absolutely be rebuilding. First the Dubois trade and now Mangiapane… I guess they are targeting reclamation projects? Not that Mangiapane is really a reclamation project - have always liked him as a player and I wish him the best. Just that he will be looking to regain his scoring touch from 2-3 years ago.
It's obvious they're gonna get Ovi to the goal record and then rebuild afterwards

I guess… but I don’t think Mangiapane or Dubois help him get to his goal record. If they want a player that can specifically help him do that… they need Huberdeau.

If Conroy just wants to add veterans to this team, he should be opening the door for cap dumps and stockpiling picks with it instead of adding via free agency.

6th rounder ended up being
30th in Games played
23rd in Goals (tied with Stillman a 6OV)
35th in points
23rd in plus minus (tied with Peplinski who played for the Flames in their most successful decade)
in the Flaming C (and even had his own version)
he had a good run!
