6th round picks nets them a 2nd round pick. That's great value.

SIXTEEN

They started with 9 originally.

Great job Craig

Yep.

This is pretty much everything I could have hoped for.

I don’t even hate the (rumoured) DeBrusk signing if it comes in at what has popped up on X lately (4 years, $5.5). That’d mean DeBrusk’s deal ends at 32 (if this completely unsubstantiated rumour is true).

Decent return especially given no retention.

Bread had gotten stale.

Wish him all the best in Washington

Why y'all want debrusk? This team isn't close to anything for the next few years. So you get a good player and by the time his contract is up and the team looks decent, he rolls out.

History people. And do some fukin math. Earthworms here I swear.

Really like Mangiapane as a player. Hard to be upset with a 6th round pick, having some good productive years for the Flames and netting a 2nd round pick in the last year of his deal.

Seems fair for both sides.

I don’t think anyone really WANTS DeBrusk, but it’s rumoured to be happening.

Who say "we" want DeBrusk. It's been rumored he will be a Flames before we even thought of it.

In Conroy we trust, super excited for this rebuild and I hope Conroy won't rush it with hasty trades when we're on the upswing again. Let's build it right this time, and I pray our luck with higher end draft picks turns. Loved Bennett but man he really needed to be a 4th overall worthy superstar for our last build to really achieve what it could have.

Look at at this cap space. So much room for activities.

The Flames now have the 5th most projected cap space in the league at roughly $29 million.

Conroy did recently mention weaponizing it as well. I hope he does a reverse Monahan and looks to acquire some distressed assets on one-year deals, and then flips them at the deadline.

Hubey must be in tears lol. First his beloved team wins the cup and now his current team is blowing it up. If only we could trade him with no retention. Thanks Tre!!

The Flames just toasted that stale bread and traded it for a second.

To me Conroy won this one. He hasn’t been what he was in his prime during the Gaudreau days. So getting this much is nice. Thought it’d be a third or fourth at best given his decline in play. Happy of this return. Hope he returns to his prime years again.

On Washington’s side… I really don’t know what they are doing. They should absolutely be rebuilding. First the Dubois trade and now Mangiapane… I guess they are targeting reclamation projects? Not that Mangiapane is really a reclamation project - have always liked him as a player and I wish him the best. Just that he will be looking to regain his scoring touch from 2-3 years ago.

Cuz he's a free asset that can be traded later? Seems pretty straightforward to me.

Diss definitely had the change of scenery mentioned, I know I also mentioned Eatbread was next after Markstrom went down.

I’ve reached out to my contact for some details/info but I’m guessing things are quite busy and or a fancy steak dinner is underway.
Things are busy, GMs are really keen on making moves this draft, not sure I’ll be able to sleep tonight it almost feels like Christmas!
