Frank Seravalli burner account? Guy is clueless. I would have rather Tkachuk never win a Cup but when it comes to him winning a Cup or the Oilers I take the lesser of two evils. Every single time.
I was there as well, I remember Conroy speaking of course. Maybe a dozen players were on stage with their jerseys on. I can't remember exactly who, someone with a better memory than me has to fill in the details.

Yeah I was at the thing at Olympic Plaza. If was pretty wild and felt completely organic and the absolute right thing to do. It certainly didn't start from an entitled fanbase acting like the team needs to salute them.
Being so butt-hurt that your team lost that you lash out at your rival's fan base and call them pathetic. Oh the ironing.
I recall in 2004, the media was pushing the "Canada's team" thing, and most Flames fans didn't want the bandwagoners. The national media didn't give a crap about the Flames up until then and it was something special for us. It didn't seem like Flames fans were craving approval from everyone else the way Oilers fans do.
In fact, I don't recall Vancouver, Ottawa, or Montreal fans doing that in their SCF runs either. This seems to be specifically an Oilers thing.

Flames were an underdog team...Oilers are 9 years in to McDavids career and were supposedly cup favs
Exactly. Flames weren’t even supposed to make the playoffs that year. And certainly no one expected them to make it to the finals, especially Flames fans. We were just happy that they made the dance, and every time they won a round it was just gravy.
