Wooooo!!!!! Got home late and watching highlights. Gazdic called out cross eye on one of the goals. And skinner let in a softie.
I’m not even elated. Just relieved. That’s over with and let’s get on with the summer.
I’m trying to find an objective post game on TV now and it’s Reid, Gazdic oilers oilers oilers oilers.

Yes, and probably none of the Panthers were playing hurt.

I tuned to TSN for a bit and Button and Co made me think the Oilers won. What an amazing team the Oilers are.

Thank goodness that greasy excuse for a hockey team didn't win. Shame on anyone not an Oiler fan that wanted them to win because they're from Canada. Barf.

They'll probably say, Nurse, McDiver and Pissy are all injured. And that's why McDiver couldn't come out to accept the award.

WTF Sportsnet cuts away from Maurice's post game interview after 30 seconds for a commercial break leading to Gene Principe. Just absolute complete garbage.

Indeed.

Some people in the series thread were complaining that the Panthers weren't trying hard enough to score in the third period. I don't think they had enough left in the tank to do anything but hang in there.

By the time Game 7 of the SCF rolls around, those guys are playing 10 to 15 pounds under their normal weight, burning muscle tissue for energy, and all nursing injuries of various degrees of severity. Running a marathon is a cakewalk compared to going the distance in the NHL playoffs.

Kudos to the Panthers for finding a way to cross the finish line, even if they had to limp across.

It’s never an obvious choice to give the Conn Smytge to a player who was invisible in games 6 & 7.

I wanted to watch some post game stuff to get some Panthers perspective but being in Canada it's all about how awesome the Oilers are/were. Too bad, guess I'll watch a movie or something. Sure ain't watching Principe yap on TV.

It's been rescheduled for next season. As soon as they drop the puck for preseason, every media clown in the country will immediately declare the Oilers Cup favourites again.

The team was built on gross mismanagement and recklessness. Draistial and McDavid and other top draft picks generally forced to be there. The league changed rules because of the incompetentance leading to draft picks.
Justice that said complete incompetence wasnt rewarded.

ABC broadcast was great. Even Messier wasn’t biased.

Sportsnet was unwatchable

This sums up my thoughts on Calgary giving Florida its pieces to stop the oilers cup run:
