Well yeah, they didn’t trade for his rights but he is a UFA for trade purposes going into next season. Leafs fans will also be disappointed if Marner is traded.

I’d be more inclined to believe him and his agent are only playing hardball because they want to be given a sign and trade to a team he wants to be on, and not just be asked to go to any team. There’s going to be a huge “what’s in it for me” involved and that’s the leverage he wants to project.

For a rebuilding team the next several weeks will be exciting to see who is added to the organization and the other trades and signings. I think there will be a lot of player movement this summer with more cap space teams will have more flexibility to make deals.

Does anyone see any possibility of a winger for a center trade?

We have Coronato , suniev, klapka, Pelletier, pospisil ( just graduated) honzek, stromgren all in the system. Good chance at leadt one of our top three round picks is a winger adding to the stockpile.
In the middle past next year we have only kadri signed. Our Center depth isnt bad its almost non existent. Have my doubts on schwindt and kerins. Lipinski may be a bottom six guy. After that pretty much zilch.

Could any trades be made prospect for prospect? I would include wolf in this as well as long as the return is a projected first line center. Apparently lafrenierre may not re sign that type of deal.
