Since I quit drinking years ago, instead, I lit myself a cigar.

My second favourite Stanley Cup of all time. No question.

Glad I don't have to contemplate whether I should just sell my Metallica tickets for August in Edmonton now.
Spending 4 days there is enough. Spending them having "2024 Stanley Cup Champions" shoved down my throat would have been so nauseating.

I am so stupidly happy and relieved right now. It’s insane. Knowing how much money all those Oiler fans like Weitz spent to fly to Florida and go to the game just to watch their team lose makes me so happy. I love it.
This is the best day of my hockey watching career in a very very long time. We needed this win.

The Panthers played a preseason game here in Sydney this year. I'm not saying we're the reason they won the cup... but I'm not not saying it!

They are sitting on 10mil with at least 6 contracts to sign (which would be a 20 man roster). They can buy out soup for a short term bit of cap relief, which would be a real problem for the wonder twins contract years, but then they would need another goalie signed too.
While I’m never happy to see the greasers find success, the beauty of this run of theirs is that several of their players that need contracts had good individual performances, driving that price up. “Pieces of the future” like Broberg and Holloway drove their price up in the finals, and there just isn’t much money to spread out, especially if their rfa’s get paid. And they’ve raided their cupboards repeatedly meaning they don’t have any young up and comers to make an impact on ELC’s.
Plus there is no way you see either of the duhnamic duo accept less than Mathews money. So if they aren’t careful they will be unable to even offer spearsaitl enough to stay. And if they do but there isn’t another massive cap jump, they won’t be able to afford McNopersonality.

True.
I don’t remember being as stressed in 2006. I was living in Vancouver in 2011 though so that one definitely has a special place in my heart.

He didn't decline it lol, if it was on Edmonton ice I'm sure he comes out. It's not that big of a deal guys. He was already back in the lockerroom with his teammates. Let it go
