So, just trying make sure I understand the argument here...
If I like another human being, and that person has committed adultery, then I am a bad person?
Maybe we should spend a little less time and energy judging each other.

Rules are a little different when you support Trump, as Orr did (and presumably still does). And if they're not, they should be.
Quote:
“This much I know. Our current president has had to operate under extremely difficult conditions over the past several years. In addition, no leader anywhere signed up with the idea that dealing with a worldwide pandemic would be part of their mandate. The attacks on our President have been unrelenting since the day he took office. Despite that, President Trump has delivered for all the American people, regardless of race, gender, or station in life.
“That’s the kind of teammate I want.”

I want everyone to know I deleted what I was planning on saying, even before I hit send, because I didn't want to derail the thread further to be about the legacy of neoliberalism.

Given their demographics, I expect around half of American NHL players (and coaches, GMs, scouts, agents, etc). support Trump.

Quite possibly. And if any of them take out a full-page ad endorsing him, I'll criticize them too.

It’s nice that calling people who support the LGBTQ community “groomers” and calling anyone you don’t like “pedophile” are just simply political views now.
We should probably reinstate Bill Peters, for having been unfairly maligned for his political views.

Alternatively, we could spend more time doing it. Everyone's done something wrong, meaning we can all judge each other to our heart's content.

Those born in 2014 are still a few more years until they are drafted.

Glad Oliver is on the mend, hope he re signs, if he chooses to move on so be it as long as he is healthy and stays that way. I am happy with the way the organization dealt with him and the situation.
I don't pretend to be in the know what Kylington was going through, so I can't really comment on his situation. I did however read Fleury's book and I can definitely say that is one situation I would never wish on anyone. The trauma he went through, no one should ever have to go through.

Step 1 - Take accountability.
He's still not even on Step 1.

Treliving (or any other GM)? Absolutely not an excuse here. They hire assistant GMs, pro scouts, analytic teams to find these answers. They can make calls and get at information that we can't have - background checks, word of mouth, rumours, etc., that we in the public don't really have access to either. They have years of hands-on experience and training (usually), have almost always have been devoting their entire career to the game.
|
They still don't know the future.
I ask again, why wasn't Giordano drafted? Is it because every GM and scout in the business was stupid? Or is it because… (drumroll)…
THEY DON'T KNOW THE FUTURE?
Judging their decisions in hindsight is just plain stupid.

For sure.
But it's certainly ok to just love the player in the Calgary uniform as a stand alone topic.

When someone has a profile as large as Theo's it's way worse when they spread the garbage takes he's become renowned for. He's brainwashing quite a lot of impressionable and unintelligent people - that's egregious.

I don't think you understand how brainwashing works. It requires 24/7 control of the subject's environment and complete control of all information the subject sees or hears.
Fleury isn't in a position to brainwash anybody. He's a loudmouth on social media, like thousands of others.
