I don't want to and will not knock any families who have faced the ultimate real life tragedy over a silly game nor any commendable charity work that the Oilers or McDavid has done however,

Every team has fans who have gone through tragedy and are currently dealing with it ect. No charity or family is more deserving than another. In fact I know a lot of Flames fans are going through it right now. I am never a fan of the "win it for sick billy in the hospital" because both teams have a "sick Billy" in hospital sadly. I had someone on the weekend try and shame me for not cheering for the Oilers because of Stelter family, I truly wish them all the best but it was a little ridiculous. Its also pretty rich coming from fans of a team with Kane on it.

Backlund has some deep roots. Gio and his wife. Monny and his wife, and they always participated in pride activities.

Tkachuk was involved with the ACH, Hamilton was always doing things as well.

What makes McDavid any better or deserve to win because of what he is doing?

These guys are privelaged, they make a lot of money to play a game. Giving back should be expected. This was something Brian Burke talked about.

I can't imagine a scenario in which they stay now. If they win (please god no) then they will have delivered everything to Edmonton and can leave worry free for different opportunities. If they lose they will want out to try elsewhere.

Where did you dig? I don't read or get info from Spector at all. I have been told be someone in the know that they are working on it. Seravalli has also said the same thing.

Yeah you guys cry about Tkachuk being a rat until you are blue in the face because....he threw a legal hit and then didn't fight a goon? How many goons has McDavid or Drai fought?

Also, what did he do to lose a 7M contract and then not face one game of suspension? A lot of teams would like to know how to get out of a 7M because of....nothing apparently?

I think your person in the know is trying to spin the Oilers reaching out to the Draisaitl camp as negotiations. My understanding is that Holland contacted Scott about preliminary talks and was refuted. I am not saying they won't talk or maybe the player wants to finish tonight first but I very much trust this individual. More than FS or Mark Spector.

CBC had 40 minutes of National coverage and obviously it's all puffball content but how anyone can support this group is beyond me.

• Hired Craig MacTavish as coach despite him killing a woman in a drunk driving incident.
• So bad the league had to change the draft rules after doling out four first overall picks to Edmonton.
• Culture of encouraging players to continue to play despite injury.
• Hired Evander Kane after he was released by the Sharks following a gambling scandal in which he allegedly bet on games he was playing in.
• Hired Corey Perry after he was released by the Blackhawks following a domestic/sexual abuse scandal.
• Lead the league in revenue generation after Edmonton taxpayers provided them with a new arena.
• Katz Group evicted and is currently suing a homeless charity instead of paying out a promised $5M donation.

Connor might be good at putting the puck in the net but there is a culture of awful up there and it's gross watching everyone fawn over them as some kind of heroes.
