If you couldn't figure out the Supes, specifically Homelander, were the antagonists from the very first episode you really shouldn't be watching the show.

Yeah, you kind of have to be cognizant of the messaging within the show.
Theres a multitude of reasons 'The Boys' are trying to take down the Supes, it starts with Hughie's revenge and just spirals down the rabbit-hole from there.

The black guy looks totally different or is that a different guy
It's still Laz Alonso. He lost a fair bit of weight and also looks a little different without the beard. I have to admit his appearance change is much more dramatic than Aron Moriarity's plastic surgery where you have to go back and look at old episodes to see the difference.

Episode 4 was amazing and I would like to forget everything about it now. So dark and depressing. The dick lasering wasn't even the 3rd most disturbing thing in the episode.

I recently watched Banshee on Crave and it took me quite a while to realize where I recognized the main actor from (it's Starr playing a wildly different type of character).
EDIT: I guess we all had the same thought.

I don't think I've ever had as much anxiety watching a TV show as I do whenever Homelander is in a scene. For me, he may be the most frightening character I've ever seen on TV.
Antony Starr deserves way more work.

Seeing this post from you talking about re-watching a show has me re-watching Chernobyl, crazy world!
Good for you! Chernobyl was great! Absolute masterpiece. I've said it before its probably the second best limited series of all time right behind Band of Brothers.

Yeah, I am not familiar with Antony Starr outside of The Boys and would never have recognized him.
Karl Urban is another actor who is quite a chameleon. I am more familiar with his overall body of work and he is often unrecognizable going from one role to the next.

His performance in 'Dredd' was amazing. I still love that movie.
