Have placed the odd bet on the Oilers to win the cup at various stages throughout the playoffs to ensure they lose, or give myself some money to wipe away my tears if the darkest thing does in fact happen.

I've never wanted to lose money more than I do today.

The ONE time I cheer for the stupid Florida team in the finals..... We just need to accept the fact the hockey gods hate absolutely despise us at this point.

Vegas winning the cup followed by Edmonton, like c'mon.... I might as well put a bag on the Leafs to win it next season.

If there is anything positive about the Oilers winning the Cup (there isn't), it should be that the Flames should learn to take their time to build this team the right way and not try to rush it. You already lost the race to be the next Canadian team to win it. Don't make it your goal to just make the playoffs.

If the oilers win game 7 it's the darkest timeline confirmed.

There's no silver lining to this #### at that point.

I wanted to be done with the NHL with the shenanigans in 2022. Now it will be much easier to detach from the sport. The product looks fake as a three dollar bill.

Not silver signing but some solace that they don’t get to lift the cup in Edmonton?

Ugh I can’t believe I typed that. This absolutely sucks.

I really hope Conroy and Iggy have been able to knock sense into Edwards about what has to be done. It's gonna be painful for a bit, but it'll be worth it in the end

The only way this changes is if Edwards sells the team. He isn't changing.

This might have the opposite effect. It might make Edwards want to get cup ASAP, and sacrifice the future the accelerate the process. The irony is that it'll just make it even longer for the Flames to become legit cup contenders. Slow and steady is the quickest way.

Good for you, if you are in Alberta they could shut down your account at any time and keep your money. Nothing you could do about it, not a legal bet.

You just know if the Panthers do choke this away in game 7 that they are going to have an absolute terrible season next year.

And the Flames traded that pick(or their own) to the Canadiens.

So I look forward to both the Flames and Panthers picks being top 10 next year, and Montreal getting the Flames pick then because the Flames would then get The Panthers 2026 pick

Darkest timeline indeed

I hate it but I'd almost guarantee it at this rate.

If the Panthers blow this 3-0 lead in the Stanley Cup finals there is no chance in hell they make the playoffs in a tough Atlantic division next year.
