Default More Rain a comin

For you folks in the Calgary region (ie most of you), there is a heavy rainfall warning for tonight and tomorrow morning.

http://weatheroffice.gc.ca/warnings/report_e.html?ab12

Heavy rain for tonight and Sunday.

An upper low from the pacific will cross southern Alberta tonight and into Sunday. As this system approaches showers and thunderstorms are expected today and early this evening before changing into an area of significant rainfall. Some of these thunderstorms could produce heavy downpours. Current information indicates total rainfall amounts of 50 to 100 millimetres are possible for the above mentioned regions by Sunday evening. Regions close to this area including Brooks Red Deer and Coronation may also receive heavy rainfall amounts and may be added to updated warning bulletins.

heading out to the 2nd game of the Dawgs doubleheader tonight. Expect it will probably end a bit before 9 innings. Didn't realize it was a doubleheader today, or I would have caught the early game.

Here's hoping the rain holds off until about 10:00

The rain is probably about 2 or 3 hours away now. Coming from the SW.

Didn't make it. I literally took two steps into the ballpark and the rain started coming down in buckets. Oh well, it was a nice drive to Okotoks.

Just had the storm chase me home. Fun fun.

Still nothing on the north side of UofC at 9pm although the sky is as dark as it could possibly be without the sun having gone down.

Still nothing much out here in West Springs. I thought their original forecast was for this to be a rainy day all day. I'm glad it didn't pan out that way, as I managed to get a ton of yard work done today.

I've lived here 3 1/2 years now and have yet to see these "brown" summers everyone from Vancouver warned me about; in fact, I think all 3 of the last Calgary summers have been greener than Victoria's.

Got back from the 7-11 in Erin Woods with my brother about 20 mins ago. We were craving a couple slurpees. We could clearly see the MASSIVE storm system arc'ing across the sky. Almost 9:25 now, and other then one thunder we heard about half an hour ago, we haven't had any rain yet either.

Just a few sprinkles down in McKenize Towne throught the evening. Some good lightning but little rain.

I know you were being somewhat tongue in cheek, but I've heard that so much these last two weeks. I comment "oh, you must be new to Calgary", and when they say they've lived here for X years, I ask if this is the first time they've noticed we get a lot of rain in June.
