Is it just me, or does AZ seem like a bureaucratic nightmare in terms of development?? I thought Republican states were supposed to be business friendly and reduce red tape? Between the numerous municipal jurisdictions, the differing rules and approval processes, the opportunities for constant citizen opposition and referendums, it is amazing anything gets done there outside of single family houses.
If anyone thinks this is a post excusing the ineptitude of the Coyotes, they are mistaken.

Also, Maricopa County (which contains Phoenix) is pretty heavily Democratic, and seems to have a history of bureaucratic snafus.

He really is. You would think that someone with that much money would be able to afford someone to advise him on how to get things done.
There was a deal to be had in Tempe, yet he tried to ram something through that was so unpalatable it created huge opposition to it.
I'm glad this location got shutdown too. It was Glendale 2.0 as far as I am concerned.
I hope that the window closes on this chapter of the Coyotes and a real owner can bring the NHL back to the valley.
