Yesterday I signed up to a new home services contract with Telus. $168 monthly for internet/garbage television. Previously I was just paying month to month at a higher rate without being locked into to a contract after my previous contract ended (a 50% discount new homeowners discount). I also negotiated a $30 bill credit.

After I got off the call, I was emailed a copy of the new agreement, showing the $168 monthly, along with my $30 bill credit. I also checked my Telus account online and the document showed the same number. I was happy and thought this was done.

However, because I never trust telecommunications companies, I checked again this morning, and a new agreement was uploaded to my Telus account (June 20). This agreement says $203 monthly. Almost all of the discount that were added to the contract I negotiated yesterday were removed, in addition to the $30 bill credit. This was never emailed to me and if didn't check for a new agreement on Telus today, I wouldn't have known until my next bill.

So I looked at the agreement again, and all discounts applied had a service period of "Jun 19, 2024 - Dec 13, 2023". It seems pretty obvious to me that this was a typo and should have been to Jun 19 2026 or whatever, and that's why the discounts were automatically removed.

But no matter who I talk to at Telus, nobody will offer the original agreement. Nobody will offer back the one time $30 credit. I've even explained to them that the service period was incorrect (and still is incorrect on the new agreement) and that's probably why the discounts have been removed. Why would I agree to a contract without discounts?

Essentially everyone I've talked to has said either I can continue with the $203 monthly agreement, or cancel the contract. It costs $15 per service per month to cancel. That's $720 to cancel this contract. They won't even discuss waiving the cancellation fee despite them clearly being the ones ####ing up and locking me into a contract I did not agree to.

I literally have the original agreement and currently I am stuck paying $35 more monthly than I agreed to ($840 + tax over the life of the contract).

I have never seen a company treat me with such disregard. I actually can't believe it. I've already wasted 2 hours on the phone today.

Every time someone suggests switching to Telus, I am reminded of stories like these. I honestly have no idea how such an incompetent company is still in business.

They did pretty much the exact same thing to me 24 years ago(without the typo). I have have never gone back to those crooks, it sounds like they are up to the same game.

When the alternative was Shaw and now Roger’s does it really matter.

Heard about this on the radio and checked into it. Where do these companies get off hiding crap in their documentation like that.

Adults riding their bikes on sidewalks in residential areas RGMRs.

Add on dude complaining to me that I didn't move so he could ride on the sidewalk makes it even worse.

#### off you loser.

I get it that kids might be more safe and comfortable on the sidewalk, and there is an age that changes. I'm not sure what age kids shouldn't ride on the sidewalk anymore, but I'm comfortable in saying 16 yr olds shouldn't.

I always assumed thats why the elderly carry those walking sticks that look like ski-poles? So if young'uns cyclists get in their grill they can just end them?

I love it when they yell at me for walking on the sidewalk, like I should step off it for them. I have airpods in, no, I didn't hear you coming, no, I don't want you to run me over, and yes, I do have the right of way. Hit your breaks, or go on the road like you're supposed to chicken-sh-t.

Ditto for electric scooters.

Without seeing the actual document, the only supposed quote is this one:
Quote:
Llewellyn says the form asks the signee to accept that the “negligence could cause the participant property damage, bodily injury, personal injury, and death.”

Which, well, ya...that's how life works. Acknowledging reality doesn't seem to far out. If your kid negligently walks into the highway, things are gonna happen.

If the kid is 7 and can walk onto a highway the negligence is on the Camp for not providing proper supervision.

https://ibb.co/wQ70dbL

Is e and f really acceptable. I mean they are removing their responsibility from basic reasonable care???

It grinds me gears when people at work "thumbs up" my email.

It is stupid, it sends a stupid notification.

If a response is warranted send a response.
