A year ago I was hoping to give Markstrom away for free. He has been completely inconsistent between seasons during his 4 years in Calgary.
Would not be surprised to see him have another bad season next year.
Getting a 1st rounder for a 34 year old goaltender is a win for me.

What's the woofing about? We got rid of a $12M albatross who had -1.6 GSAE in 165 games before this year in exchange for a 1st round pick and a former 2nd rounder who played all 82 games.

It's all about what they do with the pick now. Flames scouts will busy next season and hopefully they can nail these picks as I'm still a little scarred from the last time this organization had three 1st round picks and received zero NHL value from two of them.
