How many of those coaches have or will work again as NHL head coach? That's probably more telling than anything.

Yeah. Add some commentary and context.

It’s 2 franchises and starting with the Hartley (and GM BT) fiasco, it has quite honestly very little to do with the player
I think Gaudreau had a fair bit to do with Hartley going (and rightly so). I think it was when the big name players started to complain that Treliving decided to fire him.

A few coaches have suffered and been fired when Gaudreau didn’t perform well.

My understanding of the Hartley situation was that most of the younger guys - Gaudreau included - liked Hartley, and most of the vets didn't. Gaudreau still went to Hartley's camp after he was sacked, and if he hated Hartley and helped get him fired, I don't think he would have felt obligated to go.

He was definitely one of the ones complaining. The camp was a non-issue. Maybe he even felt bad about Hartley losing his job and went.

Some vets (Sarich, SOB, etc) hated him for sure. But my understanding is that they always complained, but it was only when the stars started to as well that Hartley was axed.

They all hated Hartley. Brian Burke wrote about it in his book.

Hartley is also the potential front runner for this job lmao.

Will be Johnnys 9th coach in 11 season in the NHL.

Coach killer!

Hartley will never coach in the NHL again, I bet.

Someone told Elliote, don't count out Hartley. He wonders.

Did someone actually tell Elliote? From the way he worded it, I thought it was pure speculation on his part.

Glen Gulutzan may have been terrible for us, but he's a bright guy and still young, and his work with the Oilers PP might get him back in a HC position.

Give it to McDavid is a one of the most brilliant strategies in NHL history.

They even said whatever structure they have they on the PP goes out the window and they play "road rules".

Jackets hire Dean Evason, after they reportedly couldn't come to terms with LA on McLellan.

Evason is an interesting hire...didn't win a playoff round in Minnesota...but IMO those teams always overachieved and him having a .639 winning percentage in his 250 games there is pretty impressive.

His power play with Connor Mcdavid? It doesn't take a genius to manage that po

Evason looks like he wants to kill anything and everything he sees. I'm sure the day Guerin fired him was fun. But he's probably a good hire here. I thought he had those Wold teams overachieving quite a bit.
