I think Steinberg is drunk.
Tanev is 34 and turns 35 in December, he's not getting a contract that takes him until he's 41 years old.
If he gets anything more than 3 years I'd be shocked.

Teams will pay rather than give term.
Tanev isn’t getting more than 4 years. Think 2 is the sweet spot for him.

Yeah I don't think he gets 6 years either but can understand why a team would give him 6 years to keep cap down.

Saw some posters suggesting a Goodrow trade involving Kadri earlier. Goodrow was put on waivers earlier today. Can't believe people actually felt it was a fair deal to include Kadri....

I hope Conroy asks what would be attached to Jeff Skinner to relieve Buffalo of the cost of buying him out. The cap hit in years 2 and 3 of the buyout is quite significant.

Your swipe at the Flames is a miss here. The reason many of these older guys moved is because Conroy wouldn’t give term. Only Lindholm and Hanifin had 8 year offers

Chris definitely loves Calgary and the team.
But I think he’s more interested in chasing cups.
Pretty sure Calgary offered him to come back on a 1 year and they’d agree to flip him to a contender at the deadline again. However I think he’d rather the stability somewhere.
I can see him re-upping in Dallas
