shame on you!

From my local paper. Who the hell would do this to a little girl trying to help out? Unreal. Oh well, she still raised $1600 for the relief effort. Good for her.

What would the point be to put in fake bids if not to just be a jerk and I see no point in being a jerk to a little girl trying to help out the victims of a horrible natural disaster.

Now what has she learned from this? People lie and cheat and screw people around. That's horrible.
I dunno about you guys, but IMO that's still a pretty credible lesson. Life isn't all peachy-keen, and kids need to learn that sooner or later. If all we teach our kids are positive lessons, than we will have a pretty gullible generation on our hands.

Kudos to her for the gesture though. It was very thoughtful.

I somewhat agree with you that it is still a credible lesson. I guess it was hard for me to take because she was on our local news the other night and she is SO cute.

MAybe she could learn the lesson when she is a little older or when she is not trying to do a selfless act like she is.

She will have to learn that people lie and cheat but it would be nice if she didn;t while doing what she is doing.

Somehow I really doubt it was her idea to put it on ebay, and that her heart was broken. If I was 6, raising $1600 wouldn't have broken my heart, heck, raising $50 selling chocolates was pretty damn good.

Me thinks her parents/media blew it out of proportion. The 6 year old is probably sitting in her room playing with dolls not knowing what's really going on.

Nevertheless, I don't see the point in putting fake bids on an auction like that. However, it's EBay, happens all the time.

sure that could be true but that's still a pretty mean thing to do (the fake bids)
