This here is the original, it has about 650l left.
I bought this one last weekend, the little bit of rain gave me about 200l, but it's all gone. I had meant to buy it last year, and am annoyed I put it off and didn't have it full.
Had this one for awhile too, standard rain barrel size of 250l, empty now.
Hey dude
I’m thinking about the same thing on the corner of my house
It drains from the roof in the winter and freezes on the sidewalk
Question
If I get this does it fill up during the winter freeze thaw cycles if I empty in the end of the fall?

It will crack pretty easily if it freezes, I always make sure it is drained before winter except for the one time I didn't and learned. Sorry for the news.

Where does one acquire such a tank, and what is the approximate cost? I have been thinking of getting rain barrels but I could probably convince my neighbour to share one of these in some unused space between our houses.

This is the best option I found this year. Like everything, they are going up in price:
Think there are some massive used ones on Marketplace for $100 but looks as though they were previously used for molasses and soy sauce… I guess it would make for a fun experience.
The one I got was used for fish oil, so the bonus residue is fertilizer.
It seemed very well cleaned, and it doesn't smell fishy at all.
Did you need to level it at all or put it on a base? Also curious about the weight of it empty? Access to our backyard is along the side of the house so not sure if it’s something that could be hoisted over a fence easily.
You can see in my pictures I built a raised base, about 16" I think so I could get it high enough to feed uphill. The second one I also built a base of 4x4's I had lying around, just to raise it a bit for getting the last bit out, but a base isn't necessary. You obviously want it mostly level so it drains.
They don't weigh that much, 2 of us lifted it over a 4 foot chainlink fence no problem at all. if you look up an IBC Tote you can get the dimensions and probably a rough weight. The base I built was 47"x39". Well, initially 47x37 because my memory sucks! Measure 6 times, cut once, still get it wrong. CRS(Can't Remember S**t) Construction, at your service.

Mwahahaha! My wealth is measured in water! I've been exited to see how much I could get in this one, last summer I rejigged the elevations on my eaves troughs to put about 4/5ths of the roof area/shed onto this side. Payday!
