That Staples article would look laughably bad as a heavily biased fan forum post, yet here it is published by a daily newspaper. Postmedia Network should be embarrassed.
I think they've showed clearly and in many ways over the years that ship has long since sailed.
Quality control and formatting is a thing of the past. You can write a glorified hf post with unintelligible ranting, spelling errors and screen captures and that passes for them as publishable material.
1. Podcasters/Analysts/Pundits for other Pacific Division teams who believe Draisaitl's elbow should have been a suspension are biased against the Oilers.
2. Foegele was just going for the puck and didn't appear to be targeting the knee. Should have only been a 2 minute minor.
3. Ekblad's "chokehold" on Bouchard shouldn't have gone unpunished and was the reason Bouchard had a bad game after that.
Unreal. If you looked up hypocrite in the dictionary, Staples' picture would be there with it.
My favourite part was the use of ex-players like PK Subban and others, that have literally no reason to be a pacific division suspension supporter, being somehow balanced/offset by various anonymous mouth breathers from twitter. They aren’t the same thing.
Second favourite was the headlock with tap out. It was literally caused as a consequence of Draisatl’s elbow. Headlocks happen in every scrum…was it the tap out that makes it equal to a debilitating elbow to the head? Why would it be suspension worthy?
I actually got the sense that immediately post Draisatl hit that some mass oilers marketing email or text went out to tell all oilers media to downplay and counter any suspension related talk.
With widespread myopia when it comes to the Oilers, it’s no surprise that the most simple premise by staples gets blanket approval by the unwashed. He knows his audience!

Reason: To be precise with words
Also was informed today that the increase in salary cap “solves” the Draisaitl contract situation and “about time the league did something for ‘us’ after all ‘we’ve’ done for the nhl.”
Oh and it’s Canada’s team no matter what anyone says because the most Canadian players play for the oilers.
It’s exhausting listening to it.

You mean those people?
You people?

Panthers would be wise to stay in Calgary next two nights. Common sense and the better option at the best of times. However now, you know the rubes up there will be trying to pull 4am fire alarms and prank room calls at the Florida hotel so they can brag about it on AM radio.

I don't think that's happened since the Sharks were in Calgary for the western conference finals.
