If anything Iginla's draft profile is closer to Coronato's. It's why I would personally go defenseman or Catton. Not that I don't like Coronato or Iginla and more that one of these defenseman or Catton addresses more of what the organization is missing.

I agree. Based on what I've seen and read about Eiserman, he seems like he might be like Brock Boeser in the NHL. Great complementary player if you already have an Elias Petterson.

He has actually been compared to Wahlstrom which is what should give you pause..
Coronato just killed it in his rookie AHL season. What is with the negativity on him?

Eiserman's shot is much better than Coronato's or Wahlstrom's. His shot is Austin Matthews good.

Couple good articles on athletic. One from Pronman compares 2024 draftees to 2023 and buckets them.
Bedard out front.
Then Celebrini, Fantilli, Carlsson in a bucket.
Levshunov, Michkov next bucket.
Silayev, Buium, Will Smith, and Demidov
Danielson, Parekh, Lindstrom, Dickinson
Iginla and Leonard
Simashev
Helenius, Reinbacher, Dvorsky
Interesting that he considers Iggy and Leonard similarly and says Leonard has more physicality.

He might be the most underrated player in this draft.
If the Flames do end up with 9 and 10.
And let's say the top 9 goes something like:
Celebrini
Levshunov
Demidov
Lindstrom
Iginla
Buium
Parekh
Silayev
I wouldn't be against taking Eiserman with that pick. He would be the biggest High Risk / High Reward player at that point.
But I also think if he hits he would be the highest impact forward still available at that point from an offensive perspective, ahead of Catton and Helenius.
The other two would be safer picks, but I think Eiserman has the highest potential to be an elite goal scorer.

Draft Thoughts (Sinister Sam Edition):
LHC William Samuelsson is an elder statesman in this draft, with a Sept.27th, 2005 birthday, making him one of the oldest players in this year's crop- missing being a first-year eligible in 2023 by a mere 13 days. That makes Samuelsson a 'tweener of sorts, as he wasn't good enough to be drafted last year, with only 8 points in 27 J20 games, but he didn't put up elite numbers for a player in his would-be D+1 season, with 44 points in 50 J20 games for Sodertalje SK this season. Those numbers seem pretty good, but may be a bad omen as most draft-worthy prospects of consequence coming out of Sweden get call-ups to higher leagues, and/or time on International teams, and few play a full 50-game slate in the J20, as he did. To punctuate the 2023-24 season, the 6'0",176lb pivot registered 3 goals and 5 points in 4 playoff games, as Sodertalje SK was eliminated in the quarterfinals.
Samuelsson is a solid, 200-ft performer who plays in all situations for his team, including both special teams, and employs a mature, pro-style game. His main contribution to offense is his playmaking, with an inate ability to read the ice well, while skating with his head up to map out his surroundings, and problem-solve on the fly. On the forecheck, he engages opponents with his high work-rate, causing a plethora of turnovers that he can turn into offense, and displays some physicality in game- showing dominance along the boards at times. Samuelsson wields top-tier passing skills, with the ability to spot lanes that others can't see, but while he does exhibit quality vision, any sign of dynamic playmaking comes only in flashes. He does have excellent puck-skills with smooth handling and quick hands to beat defenders with slick 1-on-1 moves, and is able to draw attackers towards him in order to open space to pass into- his offensive game is faciltated by deft deception. Though he's not a big goal-scoring threat, he has a zippy, accurate wrister that could perhaps use a bit more power, and he can pick corners from the circle. Samuelsson has a competitive streak with high motor, and stays in perpetual motion.
One of the big concerns with Samuelsson is his skating, which is somewhere around average- he can't separate from opponents or win many races, and needs upgrades to his explosiveness, acceleration, and top-speed. Despite this, he is valuable in transition, working give-and-go's for clean entries with control, but he can also push the pace by connecting on more long-range passes. Off the puck, he supports the action in all 3 zones, and will aid his teammates in winning board-battles. He skates smart routes, providing his teammates with a viable option for passes, and helps his D down low. Perhaps his best attribute is his reliable defensive play, good habits, and his ability to take away the middle from attackers- he's a quality defensive center. He exhibits top-notch anticipation to be able to position himself proactively, forcing opponents out of position, causing turnovers, and blocking lanes effectively. He's highly disruptive, putting immense pressure on attackers and using both his body and stick to limit time and space.
Samuelsson will never be a big offensive contributor in the pros, as he lacks the high-end skills to execute- he's not a play-driver, and lacks pace in his game. He needs to add a goal-scoring element to his repertoire as well, with some work needed on his shot going forward. Like most kids his age, there's a serious need to add strength, but Samuelsson won't get anywhere if he doesn't improve his mobility. In the future, he might make a good bottom-6 center who chips in on offense, but handles mostly defensive duties, and kills penalties. He could also just settle into a role on an SHL squad, too. If he's deemed good enough to be drafted, look for him in later rounds.

At that point I’d go Catton and Yakemchuk I think. If we’re going boom bust I’d rather take a chance on the RD with a mean streak

To Sureloss's point, depending on how the draft unfolds, I think at 9 or 10 there are better options for the Flames for foundational pieces. Nothing against Coranato, I think he will be a decent player.

"I've never seen anything like it," he said. "I couldn't believe it, but then when you get to know the kid, you're not shocked. He had that plan where he wanted to get his high school done sooner rather than later, so when he did come into this league, he could come in in the morning to work on his strength, he could get on the ice extra and work on his shot, he could get into a coach's office and go through video. He had that kind of plan."
Parekh said having time that would have been spent juggling math and science classes to instead work on and off the ice has helped speed his development.
