Depends what interest is out there for Laine, assuming what Sec shared about his treatment when asking for help I imagine a bunch of GMs would be interested in rolling the dice on 2 years of Laine. Anything involving Huberdeau from us would be accompanied by an uncomfortable amount of futures

I would do the deal after his Bonus is paid in July, but it would be Laine + 2025 1st + 2026 2nd for Yan Kuznetzov + CGY 2025 7th round pick.

Injuries have piled up on this guy recently but with the right group around him he’s a sure shot for 30/40 70pts. I wouldn’t be surprised with a change of scenery and the right org to see him back to his normal self. Two years remaining at 8.7 AAV.
I bet he bounces back big and makes a lot of people eat crow.

If theres a cheap deal or an incentive to take him, I wouldnt mind it. I imagine the flames treatment of Kylington would go a long way in his trust of the org

Huberdeau anywhere ain't happening. We just have to hope he turns it around here and plays to his full potential - which is fine with me too, I like Huby, and will always cheer for him. I'm just hoping that the Flames are ultra competitive by the time the new arena is built in 2027, Makar is anchoring our blueline by then, and Huby is helping the new-look Flames win the Cup on the back half of his contract.

I would never trade Huberdeau for Laine.
Huberdeau is a bad contract.
Laine is a team killer.

Flames are the gold standard around the NHLPA. This holds a ton of value.

I think sec is saying the Flames are in on Laine. I have no idea what it would look like but I’d think because it’s a trade request and they’d want to help him out the price wouldn’t be a full premium. If he’d be willing to come I wouldn’t mind him. He’s probably 28? Two years to evaluate would be nice. Coleman and a 2nd?

Laine is still just 26, two years left on his deal....solid track record of production for the most part.
I don't think he'll be the cap dump some here are hoping for.

I can’t confirm if Calgary is in but he checks a lot of boxes. Term, 26 YO, 6”5 goal scorer. Sadly it would cost you at least a Ras/Mangipane and picks on either side.

I don’t think so at all. I’d think that may be less. Columbus is trying to help him out but doesn’t mean other teams won’t offer more than above. He’s relatively young, has some upside, and only two years left. Has some value all in all.

Another perfect target for a rebuilding team. Take him and Chabot. Rehabilitate, and turn them into more picks.

Laine for Mangiapane kind of makes sense to me for both teams.
Rehashing an old gem:
Gaudreau+Laine
For
Huberdeau+Mangiapane+28th overall?

Huberdeau is unmovable unless we put in two firsts or something. No way we can come out fine in any deal involving him. That length is a killer.

Remove JG13 and I click the accept button. CBJ do not.

Why not take him as a camp dump and have CBJ pay us to take him, rather than selling low on Hubey and sending assets back to balance the deal?
We have cap to spare.
Get some pick and prospects. Patty plays top six and PP1, shows everyone he can still snipe goals. Trade him in a year to a contender that needs scoring help for more picks.
