			While not perfect, Maier has looked like a QB tonight. I like that he had been willing to roll out of the pocket to extend plays.

Yeah, just as somebody who feels like they understand football, I'd really like a full explanation of that call. For intellectual purposes. 
 
He caught it. He didn't get touched. He hit the ground. He fumbled it.
 
I understand "the ground can't make you fumble" but... you're also not down if you're not touched.
