Plenty of foreign people don't pronounce their name in their native manner. I'm of the opinion that if this was an issue, Kadri would have addressed it with the broadcaster already. I just don't think it is. So if he doesn't seem to have an issue with it, it's not really a topic of conversation unless you're a poster that is from that family then by all means- have at it...

If Kadri is derived from the name Qadri/Qadir then he was pronouncing it correctly. The enunciation of dragging out names is a very western/anglophone thing.

Kadri did say that isn't how he pronounces it, but he doesn't really care either way.

He literally has had 2 interviews he's done that I'm aware of that he has said how to pronounce his name. 1 was with Ian hanimansing on cbc and the other one believe it or not was with hockey night in Canada Punjabi. The place Singh first called games

So he literally told a Punjabi broadcast his name is not pronounced like a Punjabi broadcaster has been saying it.

This is Singh throwing his own twist on it . Brandon Saad isn't pronounced differently, he dosen't pronounce Mika Zibanejad how it would be pronounced correctly, In fairness no one pronounces Mikas last name right so...
