Does the city publish water consumption stats?
Until citizens see tangible figures about how much we're over-consuming relative to the current supply, a lot of folks will probably continue to flagrantly use water for non-essential things (e.g. watering lawns, washing cars, laundry, baths, etc.)

Wonder how much of the water use is people filling up water containers so they have water should the tap run dry? And their tanks on trailers for camping.

They didn’t say don’t shower. They said limit shower. You can be clean in 2 minutes of water use instead of 10. Those who obsessively and unnecessarily soap and scrub their legs might be shocked that this is possible.

Is the problem pumping or production right now? Do we lack the pumping capacity to reach all areas of the city or are we drawing down treated water levels?

I'd assume it's flow capacity in the remaining mains. Production shouldn't be affected at all.

If you simply turn off the water once you’re wet, you can soap and scrub your entire body to your heart’s content.
And again from the other thread, we keep our house heated so turning off the water is not some shock to the system where you’ll have a heart attack or something because you’re hot dousing yourself with hot water suddenly.
