There are bright sides to this.

We're coming off a lot of rain so things aren't particularly dry outside. Fires and fire threat isn't high at the moment either. And this is happening at the least adverse time of year. i.e. Imagine this happening in winter..

What is a fernie swim team? Why are you on a swim team? Swimming has teams? Can’t just swim?

Told the wife we need to shower together today. Doing one for the greater good of the city.

Well now all I'm picturing is John McClane going though it in a big dump truck.

ENMAX is also worried about critical infrastructure being damaged, which Could have widespread power outage consequences throughout Northwest Calgary. The crews I’m working with have never seen anything like this.
There is a substation very close to home road that does power a decent chunk of the area, however the good news is that all of the incoming HV lines are above ground. I would assume that doesn’t get us out of the weeds though.

Important to note is that all this equipment survived or was quickly replaced after the 2013 flood and I believe there’s no reason to fret over the electrical side.

But I’m just a dumb electrician, lefty loosey righty tighty.

Right? And more importantly, where was my invitation?

I guess I'll make do with my reading team and puzzle solving team.

This is a 60” or so line and given the size of the pool this would have been a fairly catostophic failure of the line. So I am going with a small leak for a long period of time destabilized the underlying soil causing insufficient vertical support or lateral soil shifting breaching the line.

I'm surprised to hear that. With the McKnight break in 2004 they had boats out rescuing people. That transmission main wasn't as big, but it was winter, so with a bunch of frozen CBs there was nowhere for the water to go. That was a wild one.

Rain barrels for the win! I'm actually really impressed with how much water they've accumulated in a couple weeks, they're almost full. It's the first year we set them up, good timing for this urban gardener.

It’s a team consisting of pre teen kids that has figured out a way to extract as much money as possible from parents who think their kids are future olympians.

It’s like any other travel team. You’d think all you need is budgie smugglers but nooooooo you need to pay for bla bla bla thanks for the $5k now your kid (probably) won’t drown when they fall in a lake.
