Sad news--sucked that whenever there was a national game with the Greasers we always go their team it seemed. Hopefully there's someone we can steal from another market the way we poached Ball from Vancouver.

This hurts for two reasons. Rick Ball was the best PbP we've had in a very long time. Also, now the dread of who is going to "try" to replace him
Perhaps its a good time to become a Chicago fan or take a year off from watching hockey

When I first glanced at this thread my head wanted to read Rick Bell was leaving Calgary. Then reality hit. 
This sucks. He was an amazing PbP voice and came across as a genuine person. He will be missed here big time.

I blame Sportsnet. The fact that they have Harnarayan Singh and Jack ####### Michaels calling big playoff games ahead of Rick is a slap in the face.
Big loss for us and very disappointing to hear. But very happy for Rick! That’s a huge market with a marquee superstar coming through the ranks. He will do great there!

I would honestly rather we have The Scorpion / Mike Gould be the main play by play voice for Flames TV broadcasts than Derek Wills.
I really hope it's not Wills.

Ball had a good deep ish voice and a steady cadence calling the game. It's going to be so difficult to find another decent voice.
