With how they do radio pbp dirty by making them announce off of a monitor ever since the pandemic, this checks out.

Oh, I'm not taking it any way. Canucks twitter is a ####ing cess pool. I don't blame him one iota for firing back. Unfortunately he's in a national media position. I'm sorry that no one gave him PR training when he took the job, that's a failure on the part of Sportsnet. But they should have and he will pay the price for that lack of foresight. He needs to remember twitter has a block function, and you need to be liberal with it.

Yeah that part is obvious, but are you telling me there isn't a single other ex NHL player out there that doesn't fit that role better who'd do this on the cheap? And if there isn't, why would you put a guy who couldn't hold down a job as a wannabe enforcer as your expert analyst? Just grab a radio or TV person from somewhere then.

I’m pretty sure the role is specifically: “Oiler fanboy”. So, they nailed it.

Fair point. I withdraw my objection.

Maybe he's the only one who can stand the "Ron's Poems" segment without a visible cringle.

In all seriousness, the job criteria was someone who has played with McDavid.
How many retired players who played with him and want to broadcast are there? He likely wasn't up against many candidates.

The brain dead tweets from Canucks twitter losers don't excuse him showing his disdain for the team that swept the Coilers in the season and took them to seven in round two. Sure, it's nasty to have people saying terrible things about them, but most learn to ignore it.

Ask your teacher or doctor friends how much time they spend reading comments about themselves on "Rate my Teacher" or "Rate my MD". If they want to enjoy their lives, they'll ignore the losers who just need a platform to rant.

Yep. Being in the media, especially something sports related, requires you to have a strong mental game.

Luke Gadzic did not.

Or just don't have social media. It's not like people are desperate to hear his opinion other than maybe the Oilers fans who love it when someone on TV pumps their tires.

Gotta disagree with Elliotte, he thinks Luke is going to be a star

TNT gets biz, gretzky, hank, etc. ESPN gets messier and PK.

Other than Bieksa (one of the best), what is with this tired and bland panel.

Then to add someone like Gadzic with zero personality and not much to offer knowledge wise is shocking. How did he get this job? Patrick Sharp is funny and great at this.

Just keep rotating in ex players/coaches until something hits.

I said this in another other thread but he has gotten more time on tv the last two months than in his entire career. All this meathead goon had to do was not say anything offensive and he could not even do that. No clue how he even got the job, he is not funny, witty, or insightful. Compare that to a guy on TNT like Biz who had a similar career but is far more likeable and funny. Gazdics career makes Zach Kassian look like an all star and he should not be anywhere near a national broadcast. That was even before this stupid comment.

Read between the lines of that interview. Elliotte masterfully defended his co-worker while making it clear he made a colossal #### up.

I agree but he didn't have to say he's going to be a star.

It sure will be interesting to see if he's on the panel on Saturday, I don't think he will be.

I think he will quietly disappear with a non-announced release coming mid-summer.

Of all the things I can't stand about the Sportsnet panel (basically everything aside from Bieksa) for some reason it's been that stupid roundtable formation they sit in that's been getting on my nerves lately. They look dumb before they've even opened their mouths. Like why aren't they even facing the audience lol? It just looks awkward.

I think Gazdic has a future as part of the CHUD team. His insights should fit right in there.

I'm just hoping this means less Gazdic on 960.

It just furthers my belief that Katz pays Sportsnet extra $'s.
