I admit I am actually very excited about seeing oilers there and I hope they win. I live here and the atmosphere is really fun, especially last night. My brother and his son are huge fans and I like seeing them happy^^ Wouldn't expect myself to say this before this year but I am definitely cheering for them... for now

I hope they are left crying watching Tkachuk parade the cup.

I'm pretty optimistic the Panthers will handle the Oilers. They seem hungry, and they've been to the big dance before. If they can win both home games to start the series the Oilers won't recover.

Yeah, a lot of teams with great players needed to taste cup final defeat before winning.

Let’s hope that’s true for FLA this year, and that they learned enough last year to get the job done this.

Didn't Florida have a lot of injuries last year as well?

Barkov had off ice things that seemed to impact his game. He looks like a different player.

If it was Florida's first time here I'd be much less confident in them.

But that's not the case, and teams that go on consecutive runs tend to have success. The motivation level has to be very high to see 8 rounds in two years. They aren't going to roll over.

Too much has gone too right for the Oilers to date. I expect the universe to balance out shortly.

I can see Edmonton absolutely having riots on their hands.

If I've ever trusted any player to fulfill a mission, it's Sam Bennett after game 82.

There could be some major irony here...Oiler fans bragging about chasing Tkachuk away and sending the Flames to a rebuild. Then with their one shot at a cup said player beats them, Drai leaves, McDavid follows, and the universe rights itself.

Just think how much they lucked out. Avoided Colorado and Las Vegas.

The last day Vegas gets dummied by a lottery team, clearing the path for Edmonton to take on the worst team of all time the LA Kings.

The most mickey mouse path to the finals ever.

Not just that. LA was on the verge of losing to Chicago and then one of their players decides to take an unnecessary delay of game penalty.

One can only hope that's how it plays out.

The downside of course being Tkachuk getting complete vindication for forcing his way out of Calgary. The much lesser of two evils though.

If he beats the Oilers even I can forgive him...but if they lose, my god

Vindication? Forcing?

He wanted to be the Flames captain for the foreseeable future. The Flames just didn't see eye to eye on his terms, to their own detriment.

He forced his way out of Calgary after Gaudreau left, this is not new information. He told Treliving he would stay for his last season but would not sign an extension in Calgary.

Well yeah, but winning a cup would be complete vindication for him. Just making the finals two years in a row immediately after jumping ship is obviously vindication on it's own, but actually winning it all is a different animal.
