Panthers remind me of that Detroit team that scored their way to the Finals lost and came back motivated by playing are more defensive style and winning it all.
I mean in reality, will a Stanley Cup win change the fate of the Oilers? They'd still be one of the worst run franchises in the history of modern sports. Needing 37 #1 draft picks and greasy mullets with sweat pants to finally make it here.
And they all act like they've won the last 80 cups in a row. Hooo yeah, you guys are a franchise now! Amazing team. Just the best!
And we can surely trust you as a totally unbiased source. Care to share an actual source? There are articles about the Canucks trolling, about the back and forth trolling with billboards in the Tkachuk/Kassian feud and the charitable donations that raised, but not a single thing about Flames fans trolling Edmonton radio.
Came here to post some observations and find the thread is flooded with Oiler fans celebrating a trip to the SCF by looking for validation for their team. WTF? With the effort Roger's and SN have made with 100% McBaby ads, 100% fanboys on the broadcasts, and with the total change in series direction after the sly suggestion by everyone that they needed pps to be competitive, there is zero chance any other Canadian team had a chance. We can only hope the big money bettors prefer the Panthers. Go Benny and Matt, although I expect the first hit by Bennett will result in a suspension.
Whoa whoa there was nothing pathetic about me trolling CHED as a fake Oiler fan talking about the cities meth problem and debating what to throw on the ice next loss.
That call was pretty funny. And the Jets won the next day. When you stopped calling, they started losing.

I'm more concerned about the damage their success is/has/will do to the NHL.
They are a team of whiners, embellishers, cheats and frauds...and they are deep in the Finals. I hated that 'style' of hockey when the Sedin era Canuks did it, and it's even worse with the Coilers having 'perfected' it.
It really shows that building a team doesn't matter, as long as you have the favor of the league who'll give you every helping hand they can, and even be pretty obvious about it.
This is damaging the sport of hockey, and should be something that the NHL stomps on, HARD, instead of promoting and nurturing like they are. It's embarrassing that our National Sport has a team that is built like and plays like the Oilers, and it's celebrated.
Having a Canadian team playing Canada's National Sport in this manner, and seeing success, is an National Embarrassment, not something to cheer about.

Thats how the Panthers win, simple as that. Oilers are still average at 5 on 5, cannot give them powerplays, especially since they'll have 1 or 2 mandated by the league. These playoffs have been pretty gross when it comes to calls and non-calls.

I saw McMickey tell the media how the Oilers are bringing Canadians together.
Bringing Canadians together in their disgust for the whiny, diving entitled approach to our national sport by the Oilers and their mulleted, sweatpants wearing supporters.

Panthers are the 2nd most penalized team. They are a good PK team.
A lot gets talked about the Oilers PK. They literally took on teams limping in on the powerplay.
Even the Panthers PP looks mediocre at best.
This Oiler championship needs many asterisk beside it.
Option 1, the Panthers win. Canadian heroes. Everybody who was still trying to discount Tkachuk and Bennett or got mad about people cheering them on has to eat crow or forever shut up.
Option 2, the Oilers win. The sick taste in our mouths is soothed by watching the most toxic CP summer ever seen. No one is safe. Calls for closing the E=NG thread occur, and calls for a show trial against Textcritic for choosing the name that inspired an Oilers cup begin. A CP “red scare” emerges where accusations of secret Oiler fandom reach an all-time high. Every player drafted, signed, or traded for/by the Flames is seen as the wrong move by the vocal minority. Trent recreates the wall of shame and goes back to cosplaying as a british person. After the yearly prospect polls somehow result in every prospect being ranked last, Bingo sells the board to stang, and FOI becomes a sub board of Oil on Ice. All insiders are banned, and in 2026 the last remaining threads on FOI are discussing Jankowski who has returned and become captain of the Calgary Flames.

I’d rather they not win, but it’s looking like they will. So I am trying to reduce my emotional investment and hoping for a pleasant surprise when I see the sports recap of Chucky, Benny and Lomborgini lifting the cup.
