Mentioned this in the other thread but a 7.5 hr flight is going to suck so much. Noticed theres a 3 day break in between every game teams have to travel which i think is normal for the final.

They decided on the dates before either series ended. So I assume they just took worst case of the games ending Tuesday and giving 3 days rest.

So I guess Thursday would have been out of the question anyway since there's a concert at Amerant Bank Arena that night. There's nothing other than that until the 19th so they could have easily started it Tuesday or Wednesday (if there was no game 7) or Friday.

Both teams were really good in the regular season.

Florida 3rd GF%, 5th expected GF%
Edmonton 5th GF% 1st expected GF%

Florida definitely holds the edge here come playoffs:

Panthers 1st and 1st in GF% and expected
Oilers 6th and 9th.

In the Oilers defence their playoff opponents were substantially better in these metrics during the regular season:

Kings 10th GF% 4th Expected GF%
Canucks 2nd GF% 8th Expected GF%
Dallas 6th GF% 3rd Expected GF%

vs

Tampa 25th GF% 21st Expected GF%

Still believe Skinner is the decider as I have since the Oilers acquired Ekholm. I believe the skating roster can hang with anyone since then. Skinner plays average to above average and the Oilers have a good shot to take home the ultimate prize. If he has a couple of stinkers like the LA and Van series, Florida will be too much to overcome.
