Should an anti-Putin Russian family be denied a trip to Canada to visit family members on the grounds they are obligated to stay home and pick up arms against Putin instead?

I think these policies do more to serve anti-western propaganda than anything else, and sway fence-sitters to supporting terrible regimes. Sure it's on those people to not support monsters, but do we need to give people like Netanyahu and Putin more ammo?

Should we have banned all Iraqis from travel during Sadam Hussein's regime?

I didn't feel right about this when it was pulled with Cubans.

Again, are you incapable of forming your own opinions?

Do you agree with everything that the US president believes? Is the "Leader of the Free World", in your opinion, a god like figure whose judgment can't be questioned?

Is this the case for every US president in history? Trump? Obama? Bush Jr? Does this go back to the the pre Civil War era?

Does it matter to you that a significant portion of his voting base believes that what is happening in Gaza is a genocide? Does the ICJ ruling that it is plausible enough to further investigate the accusation mean anything to you? Does the ICC warrant up against Netanyahu and Gallant mean anything?

Oh, agreed. But it's just another sign that the world has had enough of watching innocents murdered, in the same way as some countries have responded to Ukraine. A reasonable person would see things like this as a moment to pause and reflect why they would choose to do this. I expect that's not the reaction of the usual war supporters in this thread.

What is your definition of genocide? Does it align with the commonly accepted definition? Here is the UN definition of genocide:

In the present Convention, genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such:

A. Killing members of the group;
B. Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;
C. Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;
D. Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;
D. Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group

Which part of this definition do you think doesn't apply to what Israel is doing?

I avoid this thread as much as possible, just check once in a while but it's always the same people arguing and very little information on the conflict.

I think that's pretty ridiculous to say before Oct 7th was genocide, but appreciate you actually answered and didn't dodge my question.

As for right now, it's getting there. I wouldn't personally call it genocide but it's full of war crimes and unnecessary aggression, so I'm not going to argue against the use of the term either.
