Putting a huge bet on EDM to win on Sunday so I get some enjoyment from hockey.

I think we all knew when they were gifted Mcdingus this would eventually happen. Hoped it wouldn’t and enjoyed their failures and wasted years but this one seems inevitable. Damn its hard to witness this

I've thought too much about this but no matter what happens they can never take the decade of darkness away from us.

Oilers wasted 8 years of prime McLotteryball and Pissy, but when you have that kind of talent up front I guess it was inevitable that eventually things would click and start going their way. Unfortunately this is shaping up to be that year.

Everything has gone right for them. First they fluked out by drawing a piss-poor Kings team in round 1, and then luck struck again when they faced a beat up Vancouver team missing their starting goaltender who didn't bother to show up in games 6 and 7.

Dallas had a great opportunity to completely crush the Oilers' spirits in game 4 after jumping out to a 2-0 lead. But then strangely pulled a complete no-show for the next 4 straight periods. And now here we are with the most embarrassing and reprehensible franchise in pro sports essentially just 1 win away from advancing to the Cup final.

No one deserves to witness this nightmare of a timeline, but it's pretty clear at this point that the hockey gods hate all of us and want us to suffer.

Not a popular opinion, but if Edmonton wins, it will force Calgary hopefully quit messing around as a bottom feeder organization and inject some life into this team.

Nope, trash. The NHL is rigged in edmontons favour. From cancelling Kane and Perry’s contracts so Edmonton could sign them cheaper, to calling fluff penalties for anyone who touches the twink twins, to suspending opposing players (Soucy) but not oilers for the same infraction, to referees unwilling to call embellishment penalties on Edmonton, the whole thing reeks of ####.

#### the oilers, their fans and any bandwagon jumpers.

The NHL is an entertainment business, not a hockey business, so rigging things for an outcome to sell a story is just fine. And what better story than mc####balls winning a cup?
