It 100% should be guilty but seeing what I have seen out of the US these days a not guilty verdict would not surprise me in the least.

Take out the fact that he was a former president it was probably the easiest conviction in history. His lawyers were brutal.
Massive rants incoming.
Sentencing will be another gong show.

If Trump is locked in as the republican candidate, does that mean Biden runs unopposed or does the party need to pick a new candidate quickly?

Wow. So does he get held in prison until sentencing? This is terrible for America but I am loving it to be honest.

This won't stop him from running, heck even if he was in jail (highly doubtful until all appeals are exhausted) he'd probably still be the nominee.

He probably wins from prison anyways and pardons himself.

The republican Convention could name someone else - but they won't, and they don't have to - nothing prevents Trump from still running.

Why would it be terrible for America? It shows no one is above the law.

No, he'll still run. This doesn't make him ineligible.
At worst he'll probably get a $170K fine ($5K for each count) and maybe some kind of probation. There's zero chance he'll end up behind bars.
