I'm still wondering how we got to these 4 teams left.
The oilers ? Seriously? The Dallas stars?
I get The rangers snd Cats in the east....but wow....I thought the West was better than this.....and gifting the Knights last years championship and or the dirty cheaters that have won these last few years almost makes thr NHL unwatchable.
If you give the oilers a shot which is terrifying....holy #### what is going on in this league?

Hopefully this puts down all you dumb putzs that were taking victory laps after a game 3. I'm still confident the Oilers will lose but put a damn sock in it.

My prediction of Dallas destroying the Oilers isn't going well. too bad the Canucks couldn't end it

Its frustrating to be sure, but to be fair an early lead like that rarely ever holds up.
Guessing Tanev will play tomorrow. Its who he is. I saw that his foot guard was broken from the shot so I suspect its a hell of a bruise and why risk making it worse at that point.

I said from the start. If the Oilers are going to win a round I hope they lose in Game 7 OT in the finals! .... damn it's going to be rough until then though! lol

Also, regardless of Tanev's status, if I'm Dallas I seriously reduce Suter's TOI. If possible.
Time has seemingly passed him by.

He has been utter crap. I think if you put in Gary Suter he would do better.

I wonder if he's a cap dump for a pick for Calgary.

I still can't believe how teams continue to allow the Oilers off the ropes when they're in a position to absolutely crush them. After Dallas got the 2-0 lead they took their foot off the gas, fell asleep, and just went on cruise control. As bad as the Oilers' roster is, they still have two annoying superstars who can easily take over a game if you stop skating and give them too much space.
Dallas is a much better team than the Canucks, so there's no doubt in my mind that they'll be a lot better tomorrow and will probably win game 5. But Christ almighty, they could have made it so much easier on themselves and could have put themselves in a position to win the series tomorrow. But here we are. I still think they can win it in 6, but they'd better wake the hell up.

The product seems broken and not what it was.
I miss the all-out wars/marathons the playoffs used to be as opposed to what we have now which provides safety cushions and "right of way" for wimpy skilled primadonnas who can embellish and flop as they please for PPs.
The nhl allowing the Kane and Perry signings almost immediately after supposed grounds for termination as well as allowing 4 first OAs to go to the same team is an unmitigated failure on their part to uphold integrity of the rules and leaguewide parity.

The Kane and Perry thing annoys me even more than the picks. If the terminations weren’t valid, then their teams should have to honor the contracts. Otherwise teams will continue to take advantage of this loophole and terminate any contracts they want. If it’s proven that there wasn’t enough cause, oh well, pay out the cash. You can’t tell me Toronto and New York wouldn’t be fine to do that?

The NHL is slowly becoming NBA 2.0. A superstar driven league, where falling flat on your face until you get a generational talent makes all the difference. The Oilers only go as far as McDavid/Draisaitl, and haven't done much else in building a successful franchise. To me the league isn't as enjoyable when certain teams are no longer interested in "building teams", but instead their goal is to constantly pick in the lottery, and hope things work out for the best.
It's basically the Homer Simpson strategy for success "I've been working on a plan. During the exam, I'll hide under some coats, and hope that somehow everything will work out."
Yeah I'm jaded because it's the Oilers doing this, not going to mince words... but we can't be the only group that feels this way?

Has father time caught up with Pavelski?
I'm noticing him much less than I'm used to.
