Yep. Shesterkin gave up four goals and still got the #1 star. What a crazy night.

Florida should be up 3-0 right now.

More than Hyman and Kane got for cross checking Canucks in the face.

How many Elbows that are near misses does Trouba have to have before he gets suspended or seriously injures someone.

The intent has been clear on about three elbows in the postseason alone and he should have been suspended by now.

What a f'in joke. Targeted elbow to the head- a mere fine. What would Trouba need to do to get suspended? Cause a career-ending injury? Terrible look for the league. Between that and Bennett cheap-shotting marchand the DoPs is a mess.
No wonder he won the mark messier award. That was a messier level elbow.

The fact Trouba got a "leadership" award this year is maybe the worst award travesty I've ever seen. The closest I've been to as PO'd was when Gillies got in the HOF, but that's a lot less bad.

Forsling: The waiver wire that could.

Quote:
Forsling continuing evolution into all-around threat for Panthers in East Final

Nothing seems to be holding Forsling back during the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

Known more for preventing opponents from scoring, the defenseman heads into Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Final against the New York Rangers at Amerant Bank Arena on Tuesday with nine points (three goals, six assists) in 14 playoff games.

That's half of the point total of forward Matthew Tkachuk, who leads the Panthers with 18, but it's the most among Panthers defensemen and tied for fifth among NHL defensemen. That's impressive considering Forsling rarely plays on the power play -- he's averaged 18 seconds of power-play ice time during the postseason -- and doesn't have a power-play point.

Although the Panthers trail 2-1 in the best-of-7 series, Forsling has been doing his part. He assisted on Tkachuk's winning goal in a 3-0 victory in Game 1 and scored the tying goal in the third period of Game 3 before the Rangers rebounded to win 5-4 in overtime.

...

Maurice views Forsling's scoring as another sign of his confidence and growth from a player who struggled initially to find his footing in the NHL after being selected by the Vancouver Canucks in the fifth round (No. 126) of the 2014 NHL Draft.

Forsling never played for the Canucks, getting traded to the Chicago Blackhawks on Jan. 29, 2015. He bounced between Chicago and Rockford of the American Hockey League for three seasons before being traded to the Carolina Hurricanes on June 25, 2019. Forsling spent the 2019-20 season with Charlotte in the AHL before Carolina placed him on waivers, and Florida claimed him Jan. 9, 2021.

Boy, Lafreniere has been really awesome this post season which is nice to see for a high pick who was looking like he might be a bust. 12 points in 13 games so far.

Florida just cannot score.

Tkachuk and Bennett line are dominating most shifts.

Shesterkin has completely gotten in the Panthers' head. They're hesitating to shoot because they don't think they can score on him straight up. It's killing me.

Panthers are officially getting goalied in this series.

...and right on cue.

When you need a big goal, call on Sam Bennett. It's never pretty when he scores, but he gets it done in the playoffs!

New sensor tech being used on the pucks? Never noticed those lights before that Bennett goal/replay.

Verhaeghe!

That's how good you have to be to beat Shesterkin right now. You have a tap in in front and you don't score, so you have to bat it out of the air on the rebound. Nuts.
