When a building it torn down you should have to put up a photo of the old building with a brief summary of what was there before

My without malice rationale: Public sector unions contribute to the campaigns of politicians to get them elected. Public sector unions then negotiate in collective bargaining with those same politicians. The union ends up with their interests represented on both sides of the bargaining table. Taxpayer ends up footing the bill.

i would make a rule that all elected officials will be mandated to serve two terms:
-One term in office
-the other term in jail

I'd like to make an amendment to your proposed legislation: Let the parents of kids under 18 vote on their behalf. Why should a childless adult's vote be worth the same as a parent? The parent has more of a vested interest in the long term future of society for the sake of their children.

Without diving too deep into some of the errors in parts of that rationale, wouldn’t it make more sense then just to ban political donations instead of infringing on charter rights by throwing the baby out with the bath water?

Remember when the UCP raised non-monetary gifts to $500, but could go over $1000 so that Marlaina could now go to hockey games? Lol

If the seller wants to mark it up to make up for the tax difference so they can still make their $11.99 that is their decision. But the final price you pay MUST be the final price posted. I'm so sick and tired of trying to explain to newcomers why the price you see on the shelf does not match at the till and looking like a ####ing idiot trying to explain it.
I'd love to see this extend to things like tickets and food delivery. It's crazy that a $19.99 order on Uber Eats ends up costing like $47 after fees, taxes, tips, etc. Also, tickets that show that they're $26 should not come out to $55 after you click five times to finally get to the pay screen.

Yeah I would eliminate political donations outright. The government sets a price point and gives every party the same amount of money at the start of the campaign.

Election is in 30 days everybody - here is your (cash amount) election fund. Good luck.

Nuclearize Canada’s electricity supply.

There are 39 natural gas power plants in this country - replace them with reactors.

Ontario already gets 60% of its power from nuclear.

Quebec gets 90% from Hydro.

We already make the safest reactors in the world - if climate change is the threat we’ve been led to believe, this is the solution.

Many of the things suggested in this thread would require broad sweeping constitutional changes, lol.

I'd change GST to apply only to tangible goods, and not services. Which probably means increasing it to like 10%. But I'd expand the exemptions to include fitness and sporting equipment and probably some other stuff (books?) that contributes to the societal good.

This removes a burden from many business owners, and rewards efficiency.

What about the small parties?

I would ban election signage on public property.

Federal: Remembrance Day a national statutory holiday

Provincial: Have a minimum size for parking spaces; I don't know about out in Alberta but here in Nova Scotia it seems like parking lots have smaller and smaller spaces where you can't open your doors without worry of banging the car next to you, or have a car bang yours. It's foolish.

I'd also change the Municipal Government Act (NS) to give mayors the ability to actually govern and not just chair municipal council meetings and be a PR spokesperson for the city. Let them have an agenda and the power to lead.

Municipal: I've got a laundry list. But only like one other poster lives where I live so I don't bother to go through everything
