Theres a sweet-spot. I wouldnt advocate buying a hugely expensive new truck, but within reason? Of course there are advantages to having a new vehicle.

My Ferrari example only works in very specific cases.

This study is speaks to me. God I hate people like this. If you are talking about how busy you are all the time, you ain't, and we all see it.

https://studyfinds.org/stress-bragging-co-workers/

Bragging about how busy you are makes people think you’re an idiot

ATHENS, Ga. — “I’m just so swamped!” We’ve all worked with that person who seems to wear their stress like a badge of honor, constantly boasting about how overworked and overwhelmed they are. However, new research shows this “stress bragging” behavior does more harm than good. Researchers from the University of Georgia Terry College of Business have found that people who frequently complain about their stressful work lives are seen as less competent and less likable by their colleagues.

Just thought about this now, but I can't remember the last time I saw a Dalmatian. What happened to those beautiful pups?

There was this lady who tried to make them into a coat...

But that movie was a long time ago so they're not that popular now.

Here's a question I probably know the answer already but just in case.

You quit a job half-way through the year. You have a health spending account of $X. I assume that the amount is pro-rated by $X/2 based on time there. Maybe the slight chance you are entitled to the whole thing Jan 1, but I doubt it, I don't really want to ask the HR lady how I best extract more cash from them after pulling the pin.

Wouldn't the HSA be terminated once you leave? I think ours is if I understand correctly.

I'm comfortable in the grey, but my accountant is not. Rules are his favourite thing and he loves interpreting them in the least fun way possible.

Shoulda gone to Locke. Kicking myself now.

I've never seen any health benefit plans where things are prorated. Once things rollover you have access to 100% of that benefit amount (HSA, eye care, dental care, massage etc.) Just submit your claims and you are good.
