Any Calgary Fire Department members on CP?

About halfway through the gauntlet process - next is booking my panel interview and was wondering if the CP Braintrust has/had any active members of the CFD who I could pick their brains for some tips for the last half.

I was told that CFD give candidates a lie detector test.
 Why?

Very valid question. HR being HR and really slow to modernize I guess. Really silly that it wasn't ditched a long time ago like everyone else did

Hopefully it is ditched soon, it eliminates some great candidates for the stupidest reasons.

Agreed! I personally know two very good firefighters who moved to Calgary, already had their 1001's, and ended up at Rocky because they failed either the personal history or polygraph with CFD.

So dumb

They do have a lot of information that needs to be kept private so maybe trusting them is why...not that I agree with it but that could be why.

We did have a 911 lady helping organized crime gangsters and being charged recently in Calgary.

I do know somebody who admitted to doing an insurance fraud during a police lie detector test....so maybe it does work.

They insist you have to be honest about everything..and some people believe the machines are like gods so I bet it's those people they wanna get rid of.

The legend is that there was some big prostitution scandal coming out of the fire department.

In actuality it is probably more about hazing than anything.
