It seems like the refs cannot ignore the cross check because it's so obvious, but they cannot put the Oilers down a man because it's their mandate for this game, so, they called the cross check on the Oilers and embellishment on the Stars to even things out.

TNT went into great detail showing mcd blowing the zone early, ignoring own zone responsibilities, as Dallas got back into game. Refreshing

Yes I have.
That was a crosscheck and the fall was within reason. Laying there like he broke his spine is what got him the embellishment call.
Don't really have a problem with that call. I do, however, have problems with them missing similar embellishments.
