The fact that he was a 4th first overall pick to the same team in a short span is a black mark on the league for even allowing it to happen and that team winning would be a bad look in a league with a contingent of clubs that haven't seen one first overall in their existence. In the Flames' case, not even a top 3 pick.

It is unfair, sometimes a team has just been in the right place at the right time. Look at the Pens , four straight top 2 picks and two of them were Crosby and Malkin. How many times are those kinds of players available
