Is Tulsky the guy everyone wanted the Flames to poach away from the Canes last summer before Conroy was hired?

In that case, I suspect the "Interim" label will just be interim.

I always renew my contracts and yes, I do have to sign all documents.

That's a good hire by Columbus.

I really wonder what Waddell will do for Columbus — when he first went to Carolina, he essentially filled the John Bean role. He was president of the parent company and managed the business ops of the team for four years before becoming GM. Dealt with two VERY hands-on owners, too.

If Waddell can do what he did with the Canes, I think the team he'll be going to next will be in good hands. The Canes have been a very competitive team and my pick for Cup finals if it wasn't for the crazy strong Eastern Conference teams that the Canes had to contend with.

I don't think it's going to happen overnight but it's possible he can kickstart things in the right direction. They do have some nice pieces and it's just a matter of making better organizational decisions and they could on to something.

Waddell was good in Carolina and bad in Atlanta. Did he just learn some lessons, or did Dundon have a lot to do with Carolina's success. He is reputed to be very hands-on and do things differently.
Obviously I have no idea one way or the other - just curious.

Was he bad in Atlanta? Or was it a dead organization on life support. I don't think is roster building was an issue. The end of the Thrasher/Beginning of the WPG Jets was a good foundation.

Just because Tlusky is good at analytics doesn’t make him a natural fit for GM. The job involves high level leadership, communication, and management skills, not just crunching numbers to evaluate player values and trades.

0 playoff victories in 11 years. The vast majority of his trades were rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

I believe Tlusky when he was agm was doing far more than a regular agm. He was doing a lot of the actual gm job.
